Learn moreDiablo is genuinely tiny, built almost entirely around a private club at the mountain’s base.
Diablo is only about nineteen minutes from the yard, a short enough hop that same-day delivery is close to automatic on any weekday call before 2PM.
The community itself is small enough that it barely registers as a distinct place on most maps, with nearly every property tied in some way to the private country club and golf course at its centre.
Unlike nearly every other place on our map, Diablo never developed any commercial district at all. The private country club is effectively the community’s only shared institution.
That leaves Diablo almost entirely residential, on estate-scale lots that run larger than the county average, closer to the pattern in Alamo or Lafayette than to a standard suburban tract.
Diablo is small enough to cover with a single pin; find your street below, or open the full route map for the rest of the county.
Four steps, planned around Diablo’s estate-scale properties from the first call.
Nearly every Diablo lot is estate-scale, so the container often follows the property rather than the job.
About nineteen minutes from the yard, short enough that timing is rarely the issue.
Seven days as standard, and wide lots make placement simple on nearly every Diablo street.
A short call ends the job, ticket and all landing on your invoice.
Diablo has no city hall of its own, so a container placed on the street routes through Contra Costa County’s encroachment process instead. Either way, private-property placement skips the permit process entirely. Disposal itself follows the standards CalRecycle sets statewide, regardless of which office handles the street permit.

Given the nineteen-minute drive, most weekday calls before 2PM still land the same afternoon.

No. Diablo is unincorporated, governed directly by Contra Costa County, similar to Alamo and Castro Valley elsewhere on our map.
Often, yes. Estate-scale lots here support a bigger container by default, similar to the pattern in Alamo and Lafayette.
No. A 30 yard runs $765 in Diablo, same as it does everywhere else on our map, regardless of what the property is worth.
No, and given how large most Diablo lots run, a driveway is almost always the practical choice anyway.
Yes. Decades-old landscaping on Diablo’s larger lots often produces more debris than a newer subdivision would.

If your street is not listed, describe the property and we can usually confirm a size before the call ends.
Skip the permit entirely by keeping the container on your own property. Street placement in Diablo goes through Contra Costa County directly, the community’s only real point of local government. The county handles where a container can sit, while CalRecycle sets the statewide rule for where the material inside it actually goes.
Parts of Diablo sit on private roads maintained by the community itself rather than the county, a genuine piece of infrastructure that doesn’t exist in most places on our map. Deliveries to those addresses follow the private road’s own access rules rather than a standard public street process.
Diablo started in the early 1900s as a resort development anchored by the same country club and golf course that still defines it today, and it never fully shed that original layout as it filled in with year-round homes. That history is part of why the lots run larger than a typical residential subdivision built from scratch: the roads and parcels were laid out for weekend estates, not commuter tracts.
